Missions
• The mission is to install, commission, maintain and document diesel/ benzene generators and auxiliaries throughout Vodafone Vanuatu sites in Southern islands in Vanuatu, including grid and off-grid power systems and to install, optimize, and maintain all equipment’s useful to the proper running of transmission of the signal.
• To ensure highest quality of service being deliver to the valuable customers on Vodafone Vanuatu Vsat, 2G, 3G and 4G Network on a day-to-day basis.
• Must be able to Pro-actively monitor Vodafone Vanuatu network faults and quality degradation and action accordingly.
Job Description
Activities:
• Maintain and service MALAMPA Province site’s generators on Vodafone Vanuatu network:
• Install, commission, and maintain generator in the isolated Vodafone Vanuatu sites hybrid system: MALEKULA, PAAMA, AMBRYM (MALAMPA Province) sites. Maintain rural power systems, liaise with care takers for regular cleaning of Solar Panels, cleaning of battery terminals and refilling battering distilled water, and performing regular checks to ensure the rural power is always in normal operations Fault diagnostic and Report on the quality of technical aspects.
• Fault diagnostic and report on the quality of technical aspects
• Manage the petrol refills.
• Manage generator fuel and fuel logistic to Vodafone Vanuatu sites
• Do preventive and curative mission in other islands (up to 1 week)
• Must monitor and report all alarm on Vsat, 2G, 2.5G.3G, HSPA, WIMAX alarms leading to service outage and degradation of quality of service. Must closely follow-up and for urgently closure thus operate with minimal/no Outage & QoS degradation.
• Site Caretaker management.
• Install, commission, and optimize microwave link s for back hauling of the telecommunication services.
• Maintain and optimize microwave links to ensure the availability is compliant to ITU standard.
• Involving in Rigging activities such as RF installation and Tower maintenance.
• Other activities defined by the direct superior to fulfil all position’s requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
Competences:
1. Knowledge
• Certificate or diploma in mechanic – Electromechanics – Electricity - Radio
• Knowledge in electro mechanic
• Knowledge in Reporting (Excel table) and mailing
• Basics Fundamental of Telecommunication Principals
• Profession in IT and Networking
2. Skills
• Speak English / French and Bislama
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power systems including grid and off-grid power systems.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures.
• Customer and service oriented
• Acquire good troubleshooting skills!
• Comfortable with highs for rigging activities.
• Climbing on Highs certificate.
• Have a Valid Driver’s Licence
