Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Digital Payments & M-Commerce to lead the strategy, development, integration, and performance of Vodafone’s digital payment ecosystem, including M-Vatu (Mobile Money), digital payment solutions, billing integrations, and value-added services (VAS).
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving innovation, enhancing customer experience, and accelerating the growth of Vodafone Vanuatu’s digital financial services business.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead and drive the M-Vatu strategy, roadmap, and business growth.
Develop and launch new digital financial services and payment solutions.
Manage integrations with banks, payment gateways, fintechs, merchants, and third-party partners.
Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all digital payment platforms.
Drive digital innovation, including digital wallets, merchant payments, remittances, and regional interoperability.
Work closely with Commercial, Technology, Marketing, and Finance teams to launch new products and services.
Oversee reporting, analytics, revenue assurance, and customer insights.
Ensure compliance with telecommunications, financial services, and cybersecurity requirements.
Lead and develop a high-performing team while managing external technology partners.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Systems, FinTech, Business Information Systems, Finance, or a related field.
A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Digital Payments, Mobile Money, FinTech, Telecommunications, M-Commerce, Digital Services, VAS, or Billing environments.
Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience.
Proven experience in:
Mobile Money and Digital Payment platforms
Telecom VAS and Billing systems
API and third-party integrations
Banking and payment gateway integrations
Digital product development
Vendor and stakeholder management
Cross-functional project delivery
Experience in the telecommunications industry and/or Digital Financial Services (DFS) will be highly regarded.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Mobile Money platforms.
Experience with APIs and system integrations.
Knowledge of Oracle/SQL databases and Linux environments.
Familiarity with payment gateways, banking integrations, and cloud architectures.
