Mission
The Team Leader Power is responsible for ensuring the effective preventive and corrective maintenance of power infrastructure across all network sites. The role provides leadership to ensure high network availability, service quality, operational efficiency, and cost control, in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the operations and maintenance of power systems, including diesel generators, rectifiers, battery banks, solar hybrid systems, cooling and air-conditioning systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs in line with manufacturer recommendations.
Ensure continuous power availability and reliability for RAN sites and ITS Data Centre.
Manage fuel systems, fire control systems, and energy-saving initiatives.
Coordinate fault response, incident management, and service restoration with internal teams and vendors.
Prepare and manage the Power Section budget, ensuring cost efficiency.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, databases, and reports.
Manage spares, tools, and test equipment to minimize downtime.
Lead, supervise, and develop power technicians, ensuring compliance with HSE and electrical safety standards.
Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve energy efficiency.
Key Competencies
Strong expertise in power systems: DC power, rectifiers, SMPS, battery banks (VRLA/Li-ion), generators, ATS, solar and hybrid systems, grounding.
Proven leadership and team management capability.
Strong understanding of RAN site reliability and availability requirements.
Solid HSE, electrical safety, and compliance awareness.
Effective planning, fault management, and incident response skills.
Ability to manage vendors and contractors.
Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
Focus on cost control, fuel management, and energy optimisation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Electro-Technical Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualification and relevant experience.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in power network operations and maintenance.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
Proven experience with power systems, monitoring tools, and test equipment.
Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
Fluent in English and Bislama (French is an advantage).
Customer-oriented, target-driven, and able to meet deadlines.
Valid Driver’s License.
